Break Out The Softball Gear

Yesterday I made an off handed mention about who might be better suited to interview Sarah Palin after her Charlie Gibson, ABC News interview. After reading the right’s outrage over the way she was questioned I suggested that McCain have her talk to Sean Hannity.

They must have heard me

Sean Hannity, the conservative commentator, will interview Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin next week, the Fox News Channel announced Friday.

Prediction: Get ready for the softballs to fly during this one and for those same folks on the “outraged right” to hail her performance as one for the ages…

Call The Waambulance!

Your PR mouthpiece gets grilled by a reporter, he is unable to answer the question about your VP choice’s experience so what do you do? If you are John McCain you cancel another appearance on the network.

This afternoon, anchorman Wolf Blitzer announced on air that McCain’s planned interview with Larry King tonight had been canceled by the campaign. Blitzer said McCain aides complained that Brown had gone “over the line” in her grilling of Bounds.

McCain campaign spokeswoman Maria Comella later explained the cancellation with this sharply worded statement:

“After a relentless refusal by certain on-air reporters to come to terms with John McCain’s selection of Alaska’s sitting governor as our party’s nominee for vice president, we decided John McCain’s time would be better served elsewhere.”

For someone that constantly complains about the MSM coverage given to the other guy, is canceling a primetime interview a smart idea? Unless of course, you can’t answer the question either.

Osmosis?

You can’t fight logic, especially Faux news logic. Talking head Steve Doocy tries to set all of us straight that think McCain’s choice for VP, Sarah Palin, doesn’t have any foreign policy experience.

But the other thing about her, she does know about international relations because she is right up there in Alaska right next door to Russia

Next thing we will discover is that Palin is a former POW, after all she spent all morning standing next to John McCain and every other word out of his mouth reminds us of the fact that he is one.

Fox News Accosted By Far Left Protesters

Oh the humanity. For some reason Faux news can’t understand why far left protesters marching in Denver were mean to their reporter. You know that fair and balanced thing…

Faux News Makes A Mistake?

Fox news spent a whole segment crowing about how things had improved so much in Fallujah that it was now safe enough to open a Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise. They even got former CENTCOM Commander Tommy Franks in on the act discussing how just 3 or 4 years ago such progress would have been unthinkable.

The problem is that kind of progress is still unthinkable because KFC doesn’t have a restaurant in Fallujah.

I understand you wanted some details about the store in Falluja that looks like a KFC. This store is not approved by KFC International and we have working with the US Military to warn the troops of this situation.

Watch it:

They surely wouldn’t want the facts to get in the way would they?

Hands Off Our Heroes

The military hero phenomenon that is being applied to any criticism of John McCain’s qualifications is beginning to filter down to his surrogates as the right wing attack machine is now focusing their attention towards CNN .

This time Michelle Malkin takes umbrage with CNN associating retired Air Force Colonel Bud Day with the 2004 Swift Boat Veterans for Truth campaign against John Kerry.

Why? Because you wouldn’t know about Col. Day’s extraordinary heroism if you only got your news from CNN, which falsely states in a reductionist hit job on Day: “McCain Truth Squad defender was Swift Boat Vet member.”

Dismissing the fact that Day’s war record (he is our nations most decorated living service member and a true hero) has nothing to do with his current job, she then links to another right wing site to try and back up her CNN “hit job” claim but all the linked site does is pretty much admit that Day supported the group by printing a letter from Day himself.

My friend and room mate Senator John S. McCain denounced the Swiftboat video by John O’Neil. I have a different take on the Swiftboat tape and disagree with my good friend John.

Putting Bud Day’s Swiftboat credentials aside as he at a minimum was a vocal supporter of the group, Malkin’s outrage and the ensuing outrage from her Malkinite’s is just the latest attempt to protect a weak candidate who’s many faults are on display almost daily.

Which now brings us to the latest “how dare you criticise our hero” campaign over the CNN piece. As when Wes Clark called McCain’s credentials into question, the right has decided that instead of addressing the issue, they will just deflect the criticism by pulling out the hero card and trying to blame the messenger.

All McCain needs now is to find a few more Medal of Honor winners like Colonel Day to do his dirty work, heck his war for the sake of war campaign has given us a new generation of honorees though most had to die to earn it, and he can pretty much sew up the election. As is the case here with CNN being forced to shut down their comments for this post, I am sure Malkin and her minions would ensure that the left, whom for the most part are absent a backbone anyway, will be too afraid to respond.

Photoshop Follies At Faux News

The folks at Faux News are angry at the New York Times for what they called a hit piece by one of their editors so how did they react?
